Eton Sun brass and mahogany Nottingham 4.5"
reel on a 2-piece 74" cane rod. The reel is fully functional and in
excellent condition. The rod does not have any identification markings
on it. The ferrules have scratches to indicate a tool was used to
release the parts!
[Tip: How to un-stick a stuck rod? Don't use tools on a
stuck rod! Place the rod behind your knees. With both hands grab
the rod on the outside of your knees with the ferrules between your
knees. Your left hand should be flush against the outside your left knee
and your right outside your right knee. Push your knees outward to
release. Do not twist or bend the rod. All the work is done with your
knees.]

Ice Fishing Kits
|
|
12 traps, 12 spools, one 3-piece ice chisel, one brass
bottom finder in a 22"L x 7"W x 4"H wood box. The bottom finder is
stamped with the original owner's initials and the date 1928. Each trap is stamped "RS Pat. Feb. 2, 1926",
but there is no patent number. The leather handles & hinges on the
box are badly deteriorated with pieces missing, broken and
non-functional and cannot be restored or repaired. The leather was
allowed to dry out. They could be replaced. Otherwise the entire kit is in excellent condition!
For the serious collector, I know the names of the first (Maine, USA) and last (Vancouver, BC) owners. I also know how the traps work. I will include the provenance and instructions with the kit upon delivery.
[Tip: How do I preserve leather? Firstly, do not allow
it to dry out. Any leather should be cleaned and conditioned to keep it
supple. As leather dries out it cracks and disintegrates, especially at
points of wear or bending. See your local shoe maker for products.]

Shakespeare Rods

|
4-piece, each section 20”, Dynamic 180, Quality 1540, with cloth sock
|
9' Norris/Shakespeare Fiberglass Telescoping Fly Rod,
$125.00
What a find! I'd never seen one before, but it works. 3
sections. Guides are coiled springs sized to lock in at the appropriate
taper point on the rod. The label indicates Norris on bold letters and
Shakespeare in lesser. Norris bought Shakespeare in 1967, so with the
two names on the rod, I assume it was built between 1967 and 1968.

2-Piece 7' Fiberglass Rod, Wright and McGill, Green Hornet GMS-7',
