Sport Fishing Ephemera
|
|
Ephemera, or old paper, is designed to be useful or important for only a short time. Ephemera includes pamphlets, notices, tickets, advertising trade cards, airsickness bags, bookmarks, catalogues, greeting cards, letters, pamphlets, postcards, posters, prospectuses, stock certificates, tickets, etc.
My sport fishing ephemera consists of stamps, post cards, brochures, catalogs, brochures, advertisements, and more as I continue to evolve and grow collectsportfishing.com inventory.
It would take me forever to photograph it all, edit the photos for the web, create descriptions, and load it all up to this web site. What I've included here are profiles of items from each category I have in inventory.
You have some choices if you want more information on specific items.
-
E-mail me if there is something specific you are looking for. If I have what you want, I can e-mail photos to you.
-
If you live in the Vancouver, BC, area we can meet face-to-face.
-
I attend antique shows and flea markets.
Don't forget, the following are only a sample of ephemera I have in inventory.

Advertisements
|
Prudential Insurance Company of America, $4.00
|
|
|
This advertisement is a page taken out of a National Geographic magazine in 1928. (An ad on the back is for a cruise leaving New York Jan. 7, 1929) The sport fisher was an icon in the day. It was not unusual to see a fisher in ads having nothing to do with fishing. It was considered the healthy sport, like running is today. Proper mounting will conceal the torn edges. |

lure to catch it. The back of each card describes the fish as well
as behaviour useful to the fisher. I have 34 in inventory.
